A Community Response to Homelessness

Monday, May 21, 6 – 8 p.m.

 A Community Response to Homelessness   Doors open @ 5.30 p.m. and all are invited to a potluck @ 6 p.m. Just bring a dish. The program will start at 6. 30 p.m. at the Upper Valley Senior Center in Lebanon.

Jim Kenyon has generously shared his archived articles from 2001 on “The Other Side of the Valley,” an eight-part series that examined the financial struggles of four local families. It offered an unblinking view of many hard-working families and their impossible struggle to make ends meet. It is well worth the read.

Join us to find out what has changed, if anything, since 2001.

Saturday, May 19, 8.30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Our next Upper Valley Democrat community service project will be helping out at the Meals on Wheels Walkathon at the Upper Valley Senior Center.

The first shift (8.30 – 10.45 a.m.) will include help with set up & water stations. The second shift (10.45 a.m. – 1.00 p.m.) will be water stations and clean up. If you cannot stay for the entire shift that is okay, please still sign up.
