 Monday, March 18, 4 p.m.Wheeler Hall, Ware Student Center, Colby SawyerMass Shooting DiscussionAnn Preston Roselle ’98 returns to campus to give a talk entitled “Guns, Mass Shootings and Mental Illness: Myth vs Fact.” Roselle ’98, a graduate of the Colby-Sawyer nursing program, deconstructs the psychology of the various types of shooters and touches on the laws and the public health problem mass shootings present. Roselle has worked as a nurse practitioner for the last 12 years. In 2015, she left cardiothoracic surgery and critical care to join an outpatient adult and geriatric psychiatry practice. Energy 101 Spring 2019 Energy touches every aspect of our lives, from public health to international economics to technological innovation and beyond. This eight-week, not-for-credit evening workshop series is organized by the Arthur L. Irving Institute for Energy and Society and the Dartmouth Energy Collaborative. Each session digs into an important dimension of the role energy plays in human life and includes expert panelists, networking opportunities, and discussion on what’s most relevant to communities and individuals. Series starts March 28 at Dartmouth College. Sessions run from 6:30-7:45 pm. Apply to join the Spring 2019 Energy 101 series! Not Sure How to Talk About Climate Change?
The Upper Valley Adaptation Workgroup will host its spring forum on April 11 from 4:30–8 p.m. “Let’s Talk About Climate Change” will prepare attendees to have more effective conversations about climate change, address common misconceptions, and build the skills necessary to feel more comfortable discussing the topic. (Attendance at this workshop would be good preparation for the UVDems Earth Day program on April 22: “Food, Water, and Bugs at Risk.”)
