UVD program Nov 18 and Debate Nov 20

Our programs are who we are . . . we plan, we hope people come and then move on to the next one. We had our biennial fundraiser a couple of weeks ago and it was a huge success. We had fascinating speakers—thank you Mike and Andru—we had great food for our potluck—thank you all who brought food—and we made more money than last time—THANK YOU one and all!

We are honored and lucky to have our next program (this Monday, November 18 at the UV Senior Center) dedicated to our elected county officials. They will describe what they are working on–and take Q & As from you. We sometimes take them for granted and we shouldn’t. They work hard to keep this county on track, innovate and manage our tax dollars. As a warm up for the program, click here to test your knowledge of Grafton County!

Potluck is at 6 p.m.—please sign up here if you are bringing a dish. Otherwise show up at 6:30 and you will be treated to an informative evening.

We know you can’t be in two places at once but there is another event at the same time. You have an opportunity to meet Dan Feltes at Sharon Nordgren’s on November 18 as well. Who knew that a Monday would be such a busy evening!

Don’t forget debate night on November 20. The UVDems will be gathering at Gusanoz. It’s at 9 p.m. so take a nap and be refreshed and ready to cheer your candidate on.

Finally, let’s stop and think . . . about how seriously oil and gas drilling has affected our planet and how in the world we can stop any more from occurring.  We have a chance to learn about the Arctic Refuge and how we can help stop any more insults to wildlife on Thursday, November 21st at the Howe Library.

Hope to see you at one of these events!

According to the Washington Post, 10 candidates have qualified for the November debate.

The debate starts at 9 p.m. If you are not coming for dinner, plan to arrive around ten minutes to nine.

The debate watch party is open to all. If you are still undecided, as many of us are, you can chat with some of the campaigns reps who join us for the debates.

Once again, we will hand out UVD table cards to put on your table. This way, other debate watchers can join your group and servers will easily identify you.

Hope to see you there!
