the day before the primary is Labor Day
and the Post Office is closed. Plan accordingly.
You should be aware that:
- Any mail put in a USPS blue collection mailbox no matter where it is, even in front of the post office, will go to a sorting center, depending on your city/town, and will take an extra day or two of time.
- Any mail put in your ZIP slot (if you have one inside the post office) or handed to the clerk will likely be hand sorted/hand cancelled and stay in town, not sent to a sorting center.
You may also:
- Give your ballot to a person at the city/town clerk’s office. Check hours and make an appointment if necessary.
- Bring your ballot to your polling place on election day before 5 p.m.
- Vote in person, wearing a mask, on election day.
DO NOT DROP YOUR ABSENTEE BALLOT
IN AN UNATTENDED DROP BOX.
IF YOUR ABSENTEE BALLOT ENVELOPE<
DOES NOT HAVE A CODE ON IT (given to you by the clerk)
IT WILL BE INVALIDATED.
You can still download an absentee ballot request form:
https://sos.nh.gov/media/rs0ly4xu/absentee-ballot-app-8-20-covid.pdf and hand-deliver the application to your town clerk. When you hand it in, consider asking for the ballot at that time to fill it out and turn it back in. Check your town clerk’s hours below.
