* Helped pass HB 1616 which will provide NH citizen’s the opportunity to obtain a compliant with real ID driver’s license which will allow them to travel by plane without a passport.

Bio
Representative Sykes is in his fourth term in the New Hampshire Legislature. He is the Chair of the House Transportation Committee and serves on the Lebanon City Council as the Ward 2 City Councilor..
A retired Deputy Fire Chief, Lebanon Fire Department, George was the Recipient of the Aubrey G. Robinson Award for outstanding service to the State of NH in Fire Prevention. He is a volunteer with the American Red Cross. He deployed with the Red Cross Disaster Services to NH, NY, PA, MA, VT, Haiti for nearly two years. His most recent deployment was to Puerto Rico for six weeks after hurricane Maria in 2017. George has a BA from BSC 1974 and an MBA from SNHU 1999.
Representative Sykes served as a Lebanon City Councilor. He was also a Former Charter member and past President of Lebanon Kiwanis Club. He was a founding organizer and past President of the Lebanon Admin & Professional Employees Association and a former Commissioner of the NH Fire Standards and Training Commission.
He and his wife Jayne live in Lebanon. Their daughter Kate is a 2000 graduate of Lebanon High School.
Government Belief
I believe that the role of an appropriate, efficient and cost-effective government is to ensure safety and necessary services for NH citizens. To maintain and improve the quality of our environment, and secure the future of our children with access to affordable health care, a quality education, and a vibrant economy which includes a livable wage.
