Steve Marchand, Leading in the Age of Trump: Making Sununu Accountable

Steve Marchand will be our keynote speaker as we start the new year with a Democratic majority in New Hampshire’s House and Senate.

The program will start at 7 p.m., Monday evening, January 28, Upper Valley Senior Center, 10 Campbell Avenue, Lebanon

Democrats have the real opportunity to take existing bills in 2019 and stitch them into an agenda that is intellectually and ideologically consistent, that is absolutely passable through the House and Senate, and that will put Governor Sununu in a position where he must choose to sign bills into law or explain why he vetoed those bills or actively work with the legislature to create compromises that genuinely move the ball forward. Steve will address what a successful Democratic agenda can really be, right now.  We shouldn’t settle as a party for what we hope Sununu will sign; we should be thoughtful and then pass what we want to see happen. The onus is on Sununu — he is surrounded by Democratic majorities.
