Sunday April 2nd from 3-5pm for our Upper Valley Planned Parenthood Volunteer Meeting at the Howe Library in Hanover, NH.
At this meeting volunteers, supporters and activists from all across the Upper Valley are invited to learn more about what is on the horizon regarding the federal fights for Planned Parenthood. I invite you to join me and others in your community to talk about what we can do on a local level to stand up against the attacks.
Below we list some League of Women Voters NH priority bills that the NH House and Senate will vote on this week (Wed & Thurs). If you feel strongly about these bills, now is the time to phone or email your senator or representative. Reminder that you can get the text of the bills, the contact information for your elected officials, and a full list of bills and hearings in the Calendar for each body via the General Court’s website: http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/
Our (LWV) specific call for action, repeated from last week, is about SB3, the bill that will change drastically the voting registration process in NH. We have recently seen the 11-pages amendment to this bill, are still studying it so we can write testimony. League opposes this draconian response to unproven rumors of widespread voter fraud. We urge you if possible to come to the Legislative Office Building (behind the State House) onTuesday, March 7, to sign in “CON” on SB3. You don’t need to stay for the hearing—there won’t be enough room for everyone. Just come into the lobby, head to the right to room 102, and someone will pass you the sign-in sheet. Sign in between 9:30 and 10 am if possible; hearing starts at 10.
The House has a slew of bills to vote on this week in their full session. Here is a heads-up about some we’ve mentioned during their hearings. Call your state representatives to urge their votes on the bills you most care about: Click link to read up on them
